This year the awards were focused on sustainability and innovation, and recognised Facephi ‘s work in the Tech Excellence category.
The British Embassy in Spain held its annual UK-Spain Business Awards 2023 which recognised companies that create and drive trade relations and economic growth between the UK and Spain. The fourth edition of the awards included 13 categories and Facephi was honoured to receive one in the Tech Excellence category.
British Ambassador Hugh Elliott, who hosted the event, described the UK and Spain in his opening speech as strategic partners with strong commercial ties, and highlighted innovation and business success as vital factors for the progress of both countries: “The UK offers innovative projects in the renewable energy, financial services, technology or life sciences sectors; Spain is on the radar of British exporters and we see an increasing number of companies opening European headquarters here.” He added that “both countries look forward to a future of high technology, scientific advances and commitment to our planet by working to reduce emissions”.
Javier Mira, president, and CEO of Facephi, collected the award, expressed his gratitude, and valued the recognition: “This distinction inspires us to achieve greater outcomes on what we strive for. Thanks to all the Facephi Team that makes it possible”.
Facephi is present in more than 25 countries and supports over 250 customers. Its global growth and expansion are powered by its subsidiaries in Seoul, Montevideo and London, the latter focused on EMEA, with the crypto, fintech and gambling sectors as main targets.
About the UK-Spain Business Awards
The fourth edition of these awards, organized by the British Embassy in Madrid, honored 13 companies in ten different categories: Tech excellence, Clean Growth, Outstanding Achievement, Pioneering Sustainability in Healthcare, Winning Business in Spain, Excellence in Innovation, Growth in the UK, Levelling up, Driving collaboration in retail and Driving collaboration in Financial Services. The British Chamber of Commerce in Spain gave two awards as well, for Best British Investment in Sustainability and British Investment in Education.
This year, and for the sixth consecutive year, the United Kingdom is the largest European investor in Spain and continues to be the main destination in Europe for investments abroad by Spanish companies. These data reinforce the enormous collaboration that exists between the two countries, which are responsible for almost 400,000 jobs in both countries.
