Facephi CEO Javier Mira wins 2021 Forinvest Award for professional trajectory

Javier Mira, CEO of FacePhi, has been awarded the 2021 Forinvest Award for ‘professional career in the business sector,’ by Forinvest, the largest financial-business networking forum in Spain.

Mira is one of the most influential executives in the biometrics sector, a set of technologies the application of which in the banking, financial and even healthcare fields have undergone enormous evolution in recent years. Together with businessman Salvador Martí, the executive founded FacePhi in 2012, with it becoming the leading Spanish company in identity verification technology, specialising in digital onboarding and biometric solutions for facial, periocular and voice recognition. Currently, the Alicante-based firm has a presence in more than 25 countries, closing last year with a turnover of more than 7.2 million euros.

“I am very grateful for this award, a large part of which is down to our exceptional team of professionals at FacePhi, a living example that in our country there is enough talent to export cutting-edge technology. When we started our journey, the biometrics sector was almost non-existent in Spain, and a great unknown in most of the world. Time has proved us right in our commitment to promoting a truly disruptive technology that, in the coming years, will be naturally integrated into our daily lives,” explains Mira.

The XIV edition of Forinvest will open on May 10th with the presentation of the 2021 Forinvest Awards by the president of the Valencian regional government, Ximo Puig, in a ceremony held at the Palau de la Generalitat. The list of winners in other categories includes Helena Herrero, president of HP in Spain, Portugal, France and Italy; David Salvo, CEO of Power Electronics; and Patricia Pastor, CEO of GoHub.

Previously, the Forinvest Award for professionals in the business sector has recognised outstanding executives such as Rafael Juan, CEO of Vicky Foods; Carlos Bertomeu, president of Air Nostrum; and Araceli Ciscar, executive director of Grupo Dacsa.
