Ten years of unstoppable growth 

Three branches in LATAM, APAC and EMEA, more than 200 employees and record numbers round off a historic 2022 

We reflect this progression with a new logo and slogan that will accompany upcoming steps in our expansion. 

2022 will go down in Facephi’s history as the year we exceeded our expectations and broke records. After ten years of experience, it is necessary to reflect and analyse, given how much we have grown and the evolution in our sector, which is always innovating. 

It all started in 2012, when a group of engineers and mathematicians decided to bet on an alternative form of identification and verification for users’ digital identity with biometrics as a technological resource, leaving numerical passwords aside. 

The proposal came at the right time and Latin America was chosen as the right place to implement it, with banking as the main niche market. We had an accurate vision of a password-free society, with more secure solutions that prevent dreaded phishing scams. 

After unstoppable digitisation, the pandemic tested the world and, once again, we were disruptive with new biometric identification solutions. We focused on different industries, diversified our offering and expanded our business model, which made us grow at a faster pace, especially in the last three years. 

After our APAC branch opening in 2019, it was time for the LATAM branch to open in 2022, an already mature market that we decided to give more technical support to, and the EMEA branch, an area with great growth potential where we have focused on exploring new opportunities in more regions and industries, and with different customers. 

At the same time, we have been reorganising and strengthening our structure by expanding our staff in all departments to respond to each challenge we have faced, until reaching the more than 200 professionals we have today. All this effort has been rewarded in terms of business figures in the first six months of the year, with 90% growth and a positive EBIDTA of more than half a million euros. 

With ten years of history behind us, in October 2022 it was time to move forward with a new corporate image and slogan that would reflect this unstoppable evolution and light the way forward as a company in the coming years. Our phi number grew bigger to join us in our new mission: to protect people’s digital identities as they build their future.
